Shortly after teasing Hero 28 for Overwatch and revealing his identity as a cute, chubby hamster, Blizzard has released him at Public Test Realm, detailing his full range of skills. The new hero is indeed Hammond, as suspected, although his name is Wrecking Ball in the game.
As seen in the teaser trailer, Wrecking Ball has the ability to turn itself into a ball and increase its movement speed. Its automatic weapons are known as quad cannons. Gripping claw allows him to send a grappling hook with which he can swing around in the near area. According to Blizzard, "high-speed collisions can damage and throw back enemies."
Adaptive Shield offers shields for wrecking balls, which increase their effectiveness depending on the number of nearby enemies. The Piledriver brings wrecking ball into the ground, causing damage and blowing enemies into the air. Its ultimate is Minefield, which spreads a "huge" field of mines that detonate when enemies approach them. His backstory is detailed on Blizzard's website; You can watch its original video or watch some Hammond gameplay in our livestream.

As mentioned above, you can now try demolition ball for yourself if you overwatch on the PC. A new update has been released on the PTR, which you can access via the Region / Account drop-down menu of the Battle.net app. There is no word on how long the PTR will be available or when Wrecking Ball will be released in live play on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
This PTR update also does a number of other things. There are hero updates for several characters making "big changes" to damage limitations for McCree, Bastion, Mei, Soldier 76, and Widowmaker. Hanzo's new Storm Arrows see a small nerf, assault maps now offer one minute less for each checkpoint target, and various bug fixes have been implemented. You can see all these changes in the full patch notes.
