Pakistan accuses the United States of having made a report of a conversation between Foreign Minister Mike Pompeo and the country's new prime minister, Imran Khan. The US Department of State Foreign Office said Pompeo had called on Khan "to take decisive action against all terrorists operating in Pakistan," but Pakistani officials say Pompeo did not address it. "Pakistan makes an exception to the de facto statement of the US State Department on today's phone call," said the spokesman for the Pakistani Foreign Ministry. "Nothing was mentioned in the conversation about terrorists operating in Pakistan, which should be rectified immediately." US State Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert said the department would "stand by our ad" and Pakistan as "important "Partner" in the region. Khan, who became Prime Minister following last month's election, is known for criticizing US military policy in Afghanistan.
