Panic in the Sky: Atlanta's Delta Flight crashes nearly 30,000 feet

ATLANTA ̵

1; A Delta flight full of passengers from Atlanta crashed nearly 30,000 feet.

Passengers described panic as they packed for oxygen masks aboard a delta flight.

Pictures show the masks hanging from the ceiling during a quick descent.

Flight Aware shows flight 2353 was redirected to Fort Lauderdale instead to Tampa.

The aircraft descended from 39,000 feet to 10,000 feet in less than seven minutes.

"Air masks, the oxygen masks dropped off the top of the plane, causing a kind of chaos among the passengers," said passenger Harris Dewoskin.

TREND STORIES:

"One of the flight attendants, I believe, grabbed the intercom and was only over the intercom several times, saying," Do not panic. Not panic, but obviously It's a hectic moment, so the passengers around me hyperventilated a lot of people and breathed very hard.

Another passenger said he was so scared of what happened, that he told his family he loved her and she hugged his son.

"Life is fragile like there were 60 to 90 seconds in which we really did not know what was going on, with 15,000 feet in the air it's certainly a scary moment," said Dewoskin.

Das Aircraft is sitting on Tampa International Wednesday night, where mechanics are working to find out what went wrong.

Some passengers booked other flights with other airlines to Fort Lauderdale.

Delta Air Lines apologized to everyone on this plane and said that the plane was diverted to Tampa "out of great caution."
