Panic on local LA news channel after 7.1 earthquake

"I think we need to get under the desk," Sharon Donchey, KCAL 9 reporter, told her co-anchor Friday night.

The Dodgers may have played LA's 7.1-shake on Friday night, but LA's local CBS 2 station anchors stuck to the duck-and-cover elementary school thrill during shivering.

KCAL 9 The anchor Juan Fernandez and the reporter Sharon Donchey were alive during the quake, clinging to their anchor tables as the camera swayed. "We make sure that nothing comes down in the studio," said Donchey in a video taken on Twitter.

"It's going to take a long time, everyone," Fernandez said as Donchey gripped his arm.

"This is a pretty strong quake," Donchey added. "8:21

in the air here, we are experiencing very strong shaking … I think we have to go under the desk," she said to Fernandez.

The couple then took a commercial break as they ducked under the desk.

Afterwards, Fernandez answered one of the people who tweeted the video, "Thanks Alan, Phew!"
