In the recent development of Papa Johns' current crisis, bankrupt founder John Schnatter made a series of allegations against CEO Steve Ritchie on Monday for causing the company's poor performance.
"At the moment he is blaming me," said the deprived pizza magnate to the franchisee. "Tomorrow it could be you, but it will never be (Ritchie's) responsibility."
A spokeswoman for Papa John said Schnatter's allegations are unfounded.
"Once again, John Schnatter makes untrue and derogatory statements in a selfish attempt to distract from the harmful effects his own words and actions had on the company and our stakeholders," spokeswoman CNBC said via email.
"At no time did the Executive Board ask John Schnatter for it Executive Chairman: In fact, the company has taken several steps to separate itself from it, John Schnatter has publicly endorsed Steve Ritchie's appointment as CEO late last year," added she added.
