TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – Former Tampa Bay Lightning star Vincent Lecavalier and two others were injured after three charter buses crashed before the Gasparilla parade on Saturday before an accident event by about 30 minutes.

The crash occurred on the Selmon Expressway at mile 5 at approximately 1:40 pm, just before the start of the pirates' Gasparilla parade.

The Florida Highway Patrol said a bus with Paradegoers braked To leave the expressway, the bus behind it did not stop in time and stopped the first bus, a bus behind this bus pushed from behind on the second bus.

Three passengers, including Lecavalier, 38, were taken by ambulance to St. Joseph's Hospital with minor injuries. Three others suffered potential injuries.

Two of the drivers, Dennis Ball (72) and Carol Ann Newbauer (63), were capped for negligence.
