Patrick Mahomes could have ketchup for life if he can set a record in one season with 57 touchdown passes this season.
Heinz Ketchup, who has used "57 varieties" in his ad, has further questioned the promise to Mahomes Thursday after Kansas City Chiefs' quarterback told ESPNs Seth Wickersham of his love for spice, even put on steak.
ESPN has contacted Heinz for further comments. The record for the franchise season of the Chiefs has already been reached by 10 games. Peyton Manning holds the NFL record for the NFL's touchdown passes at 55 in the 2013 season.
Mahomes told reporters on Thursday that he would be willing to share the wealth if he would receive ketchup for life.
"I'm not against it," he said when asked if he wanted ketchup for life. "If it happens and I get ketchup for life, I'll certainly share it with some of the offensive linemen."
Mahomes also said on Thursday that he likes to put ketchup on another favorite dish when asked if he can use ketchup on steak.
"I do not think it's so weird, but I put it on my macaroni and my cheese, people seem to think that's a weird thing, some people think that's disgusting, but it's good for me, "he said.
