The 2018 NFL offseason was already a whirlwind of trade and activity It only gets weirder when the New York Giants take down the big receiver Odell Beckham jr.

Fans of New England Patriots are obviously wondering if their favorite team can land the superstar wide receiver. Let's get into the mailbag this week.

OBJ? Patriots? I will take my answer from the air.
– @ BOwens31
It seems pretty unlikely that the Patriots could trade for Beckham, as the Giants reportedly want two first-round selections in a trade. That is, unless New England is ready to act Rob Gronkowski. I think it's also possible that the Patriots could trade Brandin Cook and a selection for Beckham?

Would it be worth it? Beckham is in the final year of his contract, will cost a ton and wants a new deal. The patriots are probably better off with those who have them at this point, right? That's even if it means raising Gronkowski's salary for 2018.

Beckham is undoubtedly one of the best wide receivers in the NFL, but he would have to learn a new contract and follow the Patriots Way as an expensive one-year lease. And that implies that he will not only keep a new contract after a trade.

Who's Your Week Offensive Line?
– @jcralff
The best bet is LT LaAdrian Waddle, LG Joe Thuney, C David Andrews, RG Shaq Mason, RT Marcus Cannon.

The second most likely scenario is a rookie who was drafted in the first round in the left attack. Other options include Tony Garcia, Cole Croston, Andrew Jelks and Matt Tobin.

Expect the Patriots to continue attacking offensive attacks.

Do you think that Bill will hold one of our first rounds? If yes, who will you choose? (You may have been asked)
– @thebolenshow
The Patriots have only a first-round selection this year and I think they will keep them. The Patriots have only selected two players (defensive tackles Dominique Easley and Malcom Brown) in the first round over the last five designs. There's a lot of value in the first round, and it's kind of unbelievable that the Patriots have been successful (winning two Super Bowls) without using them.

I think the Patriots will try to make an offensive attack in the first round. UCLA's Kolton Miller seems like a fit.

Hello Doug. Is there a rule that free agents signed after June 1 will not be counted against the Compensatory Pick formula? If the Patriots receive three or even four tips in 2019, will they wait until June 1 and then fill all remaining posts after the draft?
– @MoranDamian
Any free agent signed after May 8 does not count against the compensatory selection formula.

Perhaps they could then engage some players for whom they showed interest, such as Jonathan Casillas or Paul Worrilow. You should also look at signing one of the veteran securities like Eric Reid, Kenny Vacarro or Tre Boston. They should be cheap after being on the market for so long.

Why is Jacoby Brissett's trade not even remotely labeled as near or even as bad as trading with Jimmy G for the return #MailDoug
– @ MasonSousa1
Because Jacoby Brissett is not very good. I am quite ready to accept the implications of this sentence when Brissett becomes an all-pro one day. Because he does not want. I watched him for two summers.

Brissett is a good backup quarterback. And he's a backup quarterback the Patriots would probably cut if they did not trade him for Phillip Dorsett. He has the potential to be a low-level starter. That's it.

Brissett would not be the quarterback of the patriots of the future, and they got something for him. And sure, Dorsett did not do much last season, but he was a body when the Patriots just needed one with a wide receiver.

Are we really playing the way Brissett was good last season? He went 4-11 with only 13 touchdowns and seven interceptions while completing less than 59 percent of his passes. The Colts offense did not help, but Brissett could and could have been better.

Let's go fast.
