House spokeswoman Nancy Pelosi announced a 48-hour deadline on Sunday. She said negotiators would need to meet to reach an agreement on the upcoming coronavirus stimulus package ahead of the November 3 elections.

In an interview on ABC̵

7;s “This Week,” the California Democrat said that the next two days will determine when President Donald Trump’s bill can be signed before the presidential election.

With just a little over two weeks to go until the election, the pressure is mounting to run a second round of economic reviews for Americans and small businesses whose finances and economic prospects have been hit by the coronavirus pandemic.

In the past few weeks, the Trump administration has made an aggressive push to get the next stimulus package out before the elections.

When asked on Sunday whether the Americans can expect a second round of relief within this period, Pelosi said, “Well, that depends on the administration.”

“I am optimistic,” she added.
