The police in Kentucky were hunting down an "armed and dangerous" man on Thursday night, who was accused of posing as a police officer and driving over a duty police officer – before he was shot and killed.
Gov. Matt Bevin confirmed in a tweet the Hopkinsville officer had died.
The suspect, on the run, was identified as 35-year-old James Decoursey, said Christian County Emergency Management Fox Nashville. Decursey is white with brown eyes and black hair, weighs 260 lbs and is 6 & 1; "tall, according to the news agency.
Authorities reported to the scene on Paulette Court after 5 pm, WKRN reports. Hopkinsville is about 75 Miles North of Nashville
