So you did it Hunger Games on the way to a PlayStation 5 pre-order. Congratulations! They’ll be snapping up a PS5 on November 1

2th when Sony launches the next generation console. But what games will you actually play on it? Sony recently announced juggernaut titles like God of War: Ragnarok, Final Fantasy 16 and Horizon Forbidden West. But those games are for 2021 and beyond (probably way, way beyond in the case of Final Fantasy 16).

Below are the games you can play on November 12th.

Note: Not included in this list are Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart, which will be released during the PS5’s “launch window”.

Demon souls

Bluepoint games

Super tough action adventure games are now being described as “like Dark Souls but”. Demon’s Souls was the precursor to Dark Souls, which was released by From Software in 2009, two years before the studio hit it big with Dark Souls. Demon’s Souls is now being recreated exclusively for the PlayStation 5.

Spider-Man: Miles Morales

insomnia

Spider-Man: Miles Morales has been compared to Uncharted: Lost Legacy. This game was an expansion for Uncharted 4: with a time of around 7 hours, it was somewhere between DLC and a full-blown spin-off title. And it totally ruled. Miles Morales promises to be this for the 2018 Spider-Manand it will launch on both PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4.

Sackboy: A great adventure

Sony

Sackboy: A Great Adventure takes the hero from LittleBigPlanet and gives him a more traditional 3D platformer. Developed by Sumo Digital, the team behind LittleBigPlanet 3 and Forza Horizon 2, this game is worth playing when it’s half the charm of LittleBigPlanet.

Godfall

Gear backlash

Godfall is a new IP and it looks gnarled. It is set in a fantasy world and is published by Gearbox, which develops the Borderlands series. It is an action role-playing game that lets you take control of one of the last members of the elite order of knights. We don’t know much about the game or its history yet, but it looks like it has a lot of potential.

Astros playroom

maxresdefault

Sony

Astro’s Playroom is a cute platformer that loads on any PS5 console. It’s essentially a tech demo that shows you what the PlayStation 5 hardware – both the console itself and the DualSense controller – is capable of. But “Tech-Demo” could beat it as its predecessor, Astro Bot Rescue Mission, is highly regarded.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla

Ubisoft

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla takes you to 873ADwhen the Vikings start expanding into England and Europe. It will launch on every other console on November 10th. The PlayStation 5 version will be released alongside the console on November 12th.

Devil May Cry 5: Special Edition

V, Nero and our old friend Dante.

Capcom

The Devil May Cry V Special Edition takes over the excellent 2019 action game from Capcom and offers a number of technical improvements. It supports ray tracing and can be played at up to 120 frames per second. Most importantly, you can also play as Virgil, Dante’s dark brother. It will be available digitally on PS5 and Xbox Series X.

Fourteen days

Epic games

Fortnite is coming to both the PS5 and Xbox Series X. According to Epic Games, the game will be optimized for launch on next-generation hardware and next year it will be upgraded from Unreal Engine 4, the architecture it is currently based on, to Unreal Engine 5 will migrate sometime next year. Here come the big changes.

Observer: System Redux

maxresdefault-1

Observer was a 2017 PC game set in post-apocalyptic Krakow. You play as Daniel Lazarski, a mind-hacking “observer” – essentially a police officer with mind-reading technology – and spend the game investigating a harrowing Krakow slum. It’s an intense horror experience that you will remember for a long time. Observer: System Redux is a revised version for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.

Call of Duty Black Ops: Cold War

activation

OK, technically this is not a launch game. But it’s close enough: Call of Duty Black Ops: The Cold War is coming to PlayStation 5 on November 13th, one day after the console’s release. That’s the same day it’s on PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and PC starts.
