Sony announced that subscription fees for its live TV streaming service will be increased. PlayStation Vue customers will find that all multi-channel plans increase their monthly installments by $ 5. The change will take effect for new customers from today. Existing subscribers will see prices rise for their first billing cycle after July 31
The most affordable package for PlayStation Vue, the Access Plan, now offers a collection of live channels and DVR tools for $ 49.99 per month. The Core package with multiple sports channels costs $ 54.99. At the Elite level, movie channels are added for $ 64.99 per month, while Premium adds $ 84.99 per month for HBO and Showtime. Netflix is the cost of licensing content. These costs increase only because multiple channels providing that content provide it alone. Disney and NBCUniversal are both getting ready to launch their own streaming services, giving them the ability to charge other providers for accessing their programs or the risk of losing access altogether.
The results of this shift have already occurred; Extremely popular sitcom The office will leave Netflix in 2020 to stream exclusively to the developing platform of its parent NBCUniversal network. In addition, more and more companies have entered the crowded room. Amazon is the only host for the prime video shows it does (and some of them are very good). And Apple signs a new TV subscription to original shows with A-list talents.
The viewers definitely carry the brunt of the bumpy road of the television industry through the streaming economy. At the beginning of the heyday of online video, streaming seemed to be a much better business than a cable package: large choices at a fraction of the cost. However, with online streaming and live TV becoming increasingly fragmented, viewers must manage multiple subscriptions to a constantly changing library of broadcasts.
It's up to every cable cutter to look into their hearts and look at queues to decide whether or not to return to cable is worthwhile. You have to decide what your threshold is for too many subscriptions and which of your favorite shows are worth the administration.
