PM Narendra Modi calls Tripura CM Biplab Deb on the recent comments

GUWHATI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi quoted Biplab Kumar Deb on New Delhi on May 2 after a series of random remarks by the Tripura chief minister left his party colleagues and split his rivals.

"Many BJP leaders are upset because Deb just says everything and everything, and Modiji will talk to him about his frequent comments," a high-ranking BJP leader who does not want to be named told ET on Sunday.

The convocation of Deb to the national capital is significant because some BJP leaders have moved the party leadership to stop Deb so his comments will not adversely affect the party in Karnataka.

"The recent elections in Tripura have given people a massive mandate in favor of the BJP-led alliance, and people want the government to focus on development and avoid unnecessary controversy." There is much resentment, according to the Chief Minister . "added the BJP leader.

The Prime Minister's speeches drew media attention in the last two weeks, beginning with the one in which he said that in the era of the Mahabharata there was Internet and satellite communications.

He prosecuted the case with a personal attack on the appearance of former beauty queen Diana Hayden and with some unsolicited advice for mechanical engineers not to opt for a civil service career.

Deb crowned it with advice for educated youth ̵

"The party is seriously preparing for the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, and such comments are not in our interest if we want to win 21 out of 25 seats in the Northeast," the BJP leader said. "We are inundated with phone calls and criticism in social media about his insensitive remarks."
