Next week, Niantic has some big events for Pokemon Go, from a special Latios raid to the return of the annual Eggstravaganza. Before all this, the developer organizes the Community Day in April. The monthly event returns today, April 13 giving players around the world another chance to earn bonuses and win some rare Pokémon – including a new Shiny.
Just like in the past few months, only the April Community Day will take place Run for three hours to find more spawns of this month's Pokemon. While the period is always the same, the information for each community tag will vary ̵
What is the featured Pokémon?
On each community day, Niantic calls a "featured" Pokémon the star of the event. During the community day, the featured Pokémon will spawn more often in the outdoors than usual, which is a great opportunity to take care of them. In addition, Community Days usually give players the first opportunity to see the Shiny version of the Pokemon of the Month, and the monster can learn a special move as it evolves to the end of the event.
The featured Pokemon for The April Community Day is Bagon the first form of the popular Dragon Pokemon Salamence. Throughout the event, Bagon will be much more common than usual, giving you the first chance to win a Shiny Bagon. If you continue to develop Bagon to Salamence until one hour after the end of the event, he will automatically know the mighty Dragon Outrage attack.
When does it start?
Until last month, Niantic has traditionally held each community day at a specific time window that varies by region. In North America, for example, the event would always take place from 11 am to 2 pm, while the European Community Day took place from 10 am to 1 pm UTC.
In early March, however, Niantic changed the schedule for the community days. Instead of holding the event at specific times in each region, it will now take place anywhere from 15-18 o'clock local time . This should make the commemoration of Community Day much easier as you no longer need to change the event hours to your time zone.
What other bonuses are there?
In addition to the increased Pokemon Spawns and Niantic offerings, there are a few other bonuses during the community day of each month as an added incentive to attend the event. This month, you'll earn three times your normal XP count if you take Pokemon throughout the community day. In addition, Lure Modules – which normally last only 30 minutes – remain active for three hours when used during the event.
