The Prosecutor's Office of the Zakopane district initiated an investigation into the Thursday catastrophe in the Tatra Mountains. It is carried out in relation to the accidental death – said the head of the prosecutor's office Zakopane, Barbara Bogdanowicz.

During the Thursday storm in the Tatras, more than 140 tourists were injured near Giewont and Czerwone Wierchów. Four people, including two children, died of violent lightning. On the Slovak side of the mountains, a Czech tourist died from a lightning strike.
