Researchers have extracted bones. They are looking for the missing Emanuela Orlandi

The disappearance of Emanuela Orlandi has not brought peace to her relatives for 36 years. On June 22, 1983, a 15-year-old girl left the house to take flute lessons. She never came back from her. Two graves were opened in mid-July in the Vatican cemetery Campo Santo Teutonico. It did not help solving the mystery of missing a teenager, but it brought with it new questions, as well as new discoveries. Ossuaries were found in the area and bones were removed on Saturday.
[1965-9026] In the middle of July the investigators examined the graves of two princesses, Sophie von Hohenlohe and Carlotta Federika Mecklenburg, who are resting in the cemetery Campo Santo Teutonico.

The search was conducted by an anonymous package to the lawyer of the missing Emanuela family who found it: an image of the figure An angel with a sign saying "Requiescat In Pace" and a short note in which someone wrote : "Look where the angel is pointing."

The first investigation brought new questions instead of solving the puzzle of missing a teenager. It turned out that the tombs where two duchesses should rest were empty.

However, the research brought a few weeks ago Discovery. Near the tombs of the princesses, the ossuary was under the floor of a nearby building.

On Saturday, the experts brought out their bones.

Investigators did not tell who the debris could belong to. They were subjected to a preliminary analysis on site, but detailed investigations should be carried out in the coming days.

According to the BBC, bones may belong to princesses whose remains were not found at the first examination. They may have taken a new place in restoration work in the 1960s or 1970s

A mysterious disappearance of 36 years ago

The disappearance of Emanuela Orlandi for 36 years has not brought peace to her relatives. In the mysterious case of finding a small brunette, there were many traces, but none of them turned to the investigators to solve the puzzle.

On June 22, 1983, a 15-year-old girl left the house to take flute lessons. She never came back from her. It is known that he was approached the same afternoon by a man and offered a job: the weird sale of cosmetics. His identity could not be determined until today.

One month after the disappearance of the girl, the alleged kidnappers called the Vatican, claiming that they would arrest Orlandi and release her if Pope John Paul II came in for Mehmet Ali Agca and released him. It did not happen. It is not even known if the interlocutor told the truth and did imprison Emanuela.

Rome's walls were glued to a photograph of a girl with thousands of posters.

Over the years investigators have adopted various versions of events: it should be the Vatican's internal affair in which unknown kidnappers appeared they want to blackmail the clergy. Later, they adopted a version that said that the disappearance of Emanuela is only a small part of the puzzle of international dozens of terrorist groups (the subject of groups unknown to date who wanted to release Ali Agcy). The arbitrary escape and the accidental kidnapping of the girl also came into play.

In 1997, the case of Emanuela's disappearance was discontinued due to lack of evidence.

In 2012, the grave was opened by Enrico de Pedis, Mafia boss Banda della Magliana, but also not found there the remains of Emanuela Orlandi.
