Police: An employee was harvested during a robbery attempt at Whole Foods in D.C. shot.

Police said an employee had been shot dead during a robbery attempt on a Whole Foods Market in northeast Washington.

Police said the shooting took place Sunday morning in the supermarket along a busy shopping street in northeast Washington.

A police spokeswoman said the shot male employee was taken to hospital in critical condition. Nobody else was hurt.

Police said she was looking for the suspect she allegedly escaped from the scene. He is described as a five-meter black man with long dreads wearing a long black coat, a gray hoodie and brown pants.

His vehicle, a red Honda Civic Zipcar with DC brands FT 9420, was located.

A Whole Foods spokesperson headquartered in Austin, Texas, ABC7 News gave the following statement in response to the filming:
