Police officers shot and wounded a man who used to shoot firefights and yell at President Trump at the Trump National Doral Golf Club in Florida on Friday, officials said.
The Man Who Was Not Identified Immediately Was Shot The marble-floored lobby of the club hotel owned by the Trump organization after police received a report on an active shooter
"What the officers were today was nothing less than heroic, "said Juan Perez, director of The Miami-Dade Police Department. "They did not hesitate a second to hire a person who actively shot in the lobby of the hotel."
The shooter was shot several times, police said, and he was taken into custody and taken to hospital. A police officer had received minor injuries that were not the result of a shootout, it said.
The encounter occurred around 1:30 am at the club west of Miami. Doral police said there was "no further threat".
The Trump organization purchased the golf resort in 2012, formerly known as Doral Resort and Spa. The club has four golf courses, including its crown jewel, the Blue Monster at Doral
The club is located approximately 70 miles south of Mr. Trump's Mar-a-Lago weekend getaway in Palm Beach, Florida.
