TUCSON, Arizona – Police from Nogales have confirmed that Officer Jesus Cordova was killed during a shootout on Friday.
According to Officer Mesta with Nogales PD, officials responded to an armed carjacking incident in the 2900 block of N Grand Avenue at 2.41 pm
Cordova found the vehicle was driving away and a traffic stop was initiated.
The suspect then left the vehicle and shot at Cordova. The suspect then stole another vehicle in the area and left. Police say he stole a third vehicle near N. Frank Reed Road shortly thereafter.
Police later located the suspect in a caravan park and detained him
On 27.04.18, at approximately 14:41, NPD officers responded to the area of 2900. N. Grand Ave block, in terms of an armed carjacking incident. Suspect was shot at the officer and later taken into custody. Ofc. Jesus Cordova succumbed to his injuries. We ask for prayers
