Pornhub launches its own VPN

Pornhub launches its own VPN service today with free and unlimited bandwidth. The VPN is designed to help users avoid ISP throttling and geographic restrictions. It is also designed so that users can transmit data anonymously without storing or collecting this information.

To get started, download the VPNHUB app to your device, and then tap Setup. On the iPhone with iOS 11.3.1, with which I tested it, the app has asked me to create a VPN in the settings. You may first see an error message, but still the main page of the app, which displays an icon with a swirling lock, will flip a little and then activate your VPN. To check if the VPN works, go to a website like WhatisMyIPAddress.com and check your IP address. If it works, it should list your location as a generic city and swap your usual IP address.

Pornhubs VP Corey Price said in a statement to The Verge that incognito browsers do not provide enough cover up against "prying eyes", especially when users are still surfing on public Wi-Fi networks, so that VPN provides an extra level of security and privacy.

The VPN service is available on Mac, Windows, Android and iOS. Although the service will be available in many countries, it will be banned from countries with which the US does not do business, including Myanmar, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Sudan and Syria. Pornhub also notes that there are "reports that our VPN could be blocked in countries like Saudi Arabia, Egypt and China."

There is also a premium option called VPNhub Premium, which costs $ 12.99 per month in exchange for no advertising supposedly faster connections. There is a free 7-day trial, and you can choose from a number of countries and locations including Australia, Brazil, Canada, Japan, Singapore, United Kingdom, and major US cities. Free users only have access to their nearest server.

The site has recently introduced support for cryptocurrency that allows users to easily make anonymous payments to the site.
