The Sheriffs of San Diego have arrested a man in connection with a shooting incident at the Chabad of Poway Synagogue, reports CBS subsidiary KFMB. Authorities report injuries.
According to police, a man went to the Chabad Synagogue in Poway and began shooting. Police say there are "many injuries" of varying severity, KFMB reports.
The shooter then started down the road, where he was finally arrested, the station reported. The authorities are confident that there was only one shooter.
The poway sheriff's department sent a tweet with the news that the shooting had taken place just before Saturday at 11.30.
According to the Chabad of Poway Facebook page, the synagogue held a pesach celebration scheduled for 11:00. Authorities Urged
Several churches in the area were closed, KFMB reported. Poway just over 20 miles north of San Diego.
