Prepaway – How to Become a Certified Ethical Hacker with EC-Council CEHCertification?

EC-Council, also known as International Council of Electronic Commerce, is the largest and most
recognized cybersecurity technical certification organization in the world. It is a member-based
body that verifies the individuals in a range of information and e-business security skills. The
organization is the creator and owner of CEH, also known as Certified Ethical Hacker, which is a
world famous cybersecurity technical credential.
Prepaway is a certificate that has received endorsement from many countries and several
government agencies in the United States, including the US Government National Security
Agency (NSA), the Computer Hacking Forensic Investigator and the US Federal Government and
so on. This makes Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) a certification that is worth investing on.
The Prepaway program is involving and time consuming. As it has always been in the
professional world, any valuable credential is never an easy thing to achieve. Thus, it is not
surprising that becoming a Prepaway is a serious undertaking. To say the truth, becoming a CEH
certified individual is actually an uphill task given that it is a highly valuable certificate and one
that provided technical skills and knowledge to thwart any potential malicious hacking attacks
through effective pre-emptive countermeasures. However, it is attainable. All you need is
dedication.

5 Steps to Receive CEH Certification
EC-Council CEH is a vendor-neutral certificate for the IT professionals who would like to
specialize in identifying and stopping the malicious hackers by actually using the same tools and
knowledge that the criminal faces use. We bet you already know this and that’s why you are
looking for information on how to become a CEH. Here are some steps to earn the Certified
Ethical Hacker credential.
Step 1

: Meet the requirements
The prerequisitesare clear and straightforward. For you to enroll for Certified Ethical Hacker
(CEH), you must meet the following requirements:  If you have two or more years of any security-related work experience, then you are
eligible to apply for approval to enroll for the CEH certification program.  If you don’t have work experience, or if you have less than 2 years of work experience,
you will have to attend a formal training. It is offered to the candidates at the EC-Council
accredited training center via an approved online program. You can also attend courses
at an academic institution, which has been approved by EC-Council.
These requirements are meant to prepare you for the EC-Council CEH certification exam. The
training also equips you with the necessary technical skills and knowledge required to screen
out malicious hobbyists and hackers.
Step 2: Take the course
As it was mentioned before, training is needed to those students without the required years of
security-related job experience. However, even those who have had security-related work are
also advised to take the course.
The Prepaway program is meant to prepare you to take the 312-50 certification test. The
training is not only aimed at preparing you for the exam, but it is also designed to provide you
with the ability to handle any ethical hacking scenarios and penetration testing that can come
your way in your IT career.

Step 3: Register for the exam
After completing the CEH training program, as well as a thorough self-study and research, the
next step is to register for the EC-Council CEH 312-50 exam. It is available at Pearson VUE and
ECC Exam Center.
Step 4: Take the exam
Taking the exam marks the end of the EC-Council CEH certification program. The test is 312-50.
It is necessary to pass it to be certified. The exam consists of 125 multiple-choice questions and
you have 4 hours to answer all of them. There is no penalty for leaving any question
unanswered though. EC-Council CEH 312-50 measures the candidates on main 18 areas. They
include:  Introduction to ethical hacking
 Scanning networks  Footprinting and reconnaissance
 Sniffing
 Enumeration
 Malware threats  Cryptography  Cloud computing
 SQL injection
 Evading IDS, honeypots and firewalls  Hacking mobile platforms  Hacking wireless networks  Hacking web applications  Session hijacking
 Denial-of-Service  Social engineering  System hacking
 Hacking web servers
Step 5: Prepare for an audit
There are also audit requirements after passing the certification exam and getting your ECCouncil CEH credential. Any CEH certified member is required to maintain adequate evidence
that shows their involvement in the activities for earning the ECE credits. The auditing is done
randomly. You never know whether you will be one of those people who will be audited.
Hence, make sure that you are getting your certification legally and without cutting any
corners. If you fail to meet the auditing requirements, or if it is found that you provided any
false information during the process of acquiring the certificate, EC-council will either suspend
or immediately revoke your credential.
Recertification
According to the EC-Council policy, the CEH certificateis valid for only three years from the
certification date. Within the 3-year interval, you must renew your CEH by taking part in the
ECE (EC-Council Continuing Education) Program. After completing the three-year ECE Program
and meeting all the requirements, the validity of your EC-Council CEH credential will be
extended again for another 3 years starting from the month of the expiry.
After getting your CEH certificate, you will be liable to pay the applicable annual membership
fee. EC-Council requires you to pay $80. This membership fee is applied even after
recertification.
Conclusion
Becoming a CEH certified professional is a great achievement and a career boost. Start the
certification program today and become a legal certified hacker.
