A police officer from Prince George's County has been arrested and charged with a rape allegation that he has sexually assaulted a woman during a traffic jam Thursday, officials said Monday
police said officer 1st class Ryan Macklin was detained Monday night in connection with the incident that allegedly occurred on early Thursday on University Boulevard, in Langley Park, Md.
During the stop, the police said the woman became forced to perform "a sexual act" while she and the officer who was on duty and in uniform sat in her car in a nearby parking lot
Police said on Monday night that they had no information about why the woman was became the target of the alleged attack.
In a short surveillance video, the police said the police officer was actively on his police car to stop the traffic.
"Within hours of the woman's arrest," the police officer was suspended along with his police forces, police spokeswoman Jennifer Donelan said at a press conference on Monday before the charges
