Sony has unveiled the timed exclusive PS4 content of the upcoming Forsaken extension for Destiny 2. If you own Destiny 2 on PS4 and buy Forsaken, you gain access to a new armor set for each class, an exotic weapon, a ship, and a strike. This content will be released sometime in the fall of 2019 for Xbox One and PC players.
Sony Interactive social media manager Justin Massongill has described in detail the PS4-exclusive content on the PlayStation blog. Regarding armor sets, players will receive Thorium Holt for Warlock, Red Moon Phantom for Hunter, and Mimetic Savior for Titan. All three have very muted standard black and silver color schemes, though Red Moon Phantom has bright blue and red splashes of color.
The new exotic weapon, Wavesplitter, fires an energy beam that can be fired at three different power levels. Holding the shutter button increases the size of the laser and the damage. Collecting a ball of light instantly brings the breakwater to full strength, so keep that in mind when adding the weapon to your gear.
The new ship is the Great Beyond, which is described as: "It comes from an undiscovered land from which no explorer has returned … until now. "The new hit, titled Broodhold, gets you exploring the deepest depths of the Tangled Shore to destroy a Hive infestation. The mission ends with a fight against the nightmarish Hive Brood Queen.
Destiny 2 is currently free on PS Plus if you want to pick up the game before starting Forsaken on September 4th. If you pre-order Forsaken – on any platform – you will unlock a 24-hour trial of the new Gambit mode on September 1st. In preparation for the new expansion, Bungie has already released an update that extends Destiny 2 by five major changes.
After Forsaken, Bungie For Destiny 2, a whole year of content is planned, with two different ways, depending on whether you're ready to pay.
Destiny 2 is available for Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
