The Asian player base of the Battle Royale game has recently put a new mask on the mobile game, a mask with the symbol of the rising sun, which is often associated with the imperial-Japanese military. GamesIndustry.biz (via BBC's Korean website Bzit) reported that it was unpleasant for the players because of the implications behind the symbol that the mask was a wearable item in the game. Especially Korean and Chinese players caught the attention and reminded others and PUBG Corp. to the story behind the two countries and Japan during the Second World War. The mask can be seen below, with the rising sun icon across the front of the mask.
For all mobile players who have bought The item, Bluehole, has issued refunds for each account to compensate for them now that the item has been removed from the game. It is not clear how the name of the mask and the Bot slipped through the crack to be added to the game The revision of the inspection process should help prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.
