MIAMI (AP) – If you've brought Fido grocery shopping, put it in your cart, and hand it over as a "minion," pay attention. Florida's Publix supermarket chain stubbornly
The grocery store has added new signs in the shop stating that only service animals trained for the disabled are allowed. No minions should sit in cart or ride.
A Publix spokesman told the Orlando-Sentinel that this had always been the policy, but said the store decided to put the signs in to alert customers.
Service animals have become a controversial issue as several states have attempted to tackle people who may be abusing the Disability Act. Growing complaints have also surfaced as more people have tried to throw pets at airlines under the guise of service dogs.
