Trump and Putin were in the front row, separated from four other world civil servants.
US. The Turkish intelligence service reported that the Crown Prince was responsible for ordering the assassination, and US legislators from both parties have pressured Trump to aggressively sanction Saudi Arabia. Trump has so far been discouraged.
The open-hearted warm exchange took place when the leaders of the world mixed into a meeting room for a working lunch. Putin and Salman clapped their hands as they sat down next to each other. While other world leaders made a pleasant small talk, Putin and the Crown Prince seemed especially warm by comparison. A video of the two was on Friday shortly after the exchange on Twitter in circulation.
It is unclear whether Trump wants to meet the two leaders: he tweeted on Thursday that a previously scheduled meeting with Putin had been canceled, even though the Kremlin had suggested that they meet informally. Trump told reporters on Thursday that he did not have time to meet bin Salman, but that was before he canceled a tweet with Putin.
