Qantas completes its first nonstop flight from Australia to the UK



On March 24, Qantas Airways completed its first QF9 flight to London, the first nonstop scheduled flight from Australia to the UK.

CEO Alan Joyce, CEO of Qantas Group, was one of the passengers on the inaugural flight, describing it as an important milestone for Australia as well as global aviation.

The two routes include QF10, which departs from London Heathrow at 13:15 and arrives in Perth at 13:00 the next day and QF9, departing at 18:45 from Perth and arriving at 05:05 the next day London Heathrow (all local time)

The new Qantas Dreamliner flight is designed to allow British visitors to travel to Australia after about 17 hours, three to five hours less than traveling through the Middle East or Asia. Qantas reveals that the new route also gives passengers a choice to explore Perth, drive to Melbourne, or connect to one of 1

1 other destinations from Perth in one day. The Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner used on the route carries 236 passengers in business, premium economy and economy cabins.
