The Canadian cryptography exchange QuadrigaCX made headlines last week over the incredible story surrounding the death of the company's CEO, which eroded access to all client funds. CEO Gerald Cotten apparently died in December of complications related to Crohn's disease.
The speculation with Quadriga, which now owes its customers over $ 190 million in cash, is widespread.
The exchange has since gone offline and QuadrigaCX has filed a sworn statement by Cottens Widow, Jennifer Robertson.

Social media has all sorts of potential stories about what exactly could happen to CEO Gerald Cotten a recent report that the exchange never lost access to one of his wallets.
Social media has now found out that Quadriga co-founder Michael Patryn is indeed not Michael at all, but rather convicted criminal Omar Dhanani. According to social media, Dhanani was convicted of fraud for operating an online identity theft marketplace in the United States. He was released in 2007.
The latest news on this could be catastrophic for Quadriga, as well as customers who expect money from the exchange. Worrying is the fact that in this case Dhanani would have access to identification documents for the client and could process them at will.
The information has not yet been confirmed by a credible source, but so far it's just another road that makes the whole situation appear in a dark light. Stay tuned to Chepicap for updates on the QuadrigaCX debacle.
