The Baltimore Ravens convened a press conference for Thursday morning to announce the re-signing of a player with head coach John Harbaugh, also present.
The player was absent
The best known free agents for Baltimore are the linebackers CJ Mosley, Za & Darius Smith and Terrell Suggs as well as the great recipient John Brown.
The Ravens rejected this from the franchise day of Mosley, who was named four-time Pro Bowler and All-Pro second seed during his five seasons in Baltimore. He has 597 tackles, 8.5 sacks and six forced fumble in his career.
Suggs is one of the most savvy players in franchise history and could also easily be the subject of the announcement.
Smith had a strong season in 2018 with 8.5 sacks and 45 tackles as rotary flow breakers. Although he may not be equal to Mosley or Suggs, he is one of the most prominent players to reach the market for Baltimore.
Tight ends Nick Boyle and Maxx Williams, the Buck Allen and Ty Montgomery, quarterback, leaves Robert Griffin III and the defensive lineman Brent Urban are also free agents for Baltimore. However, calling a press conference to announce a re-signing of one of these players would seem a bit strange.
The release of Eric Weddle on Tuesday could ultimately serve as a precursor to the upcoming contract extension. The Ravens have saved $ 6.5 million against the salary cap through the release of Weddle, possibly giving the financial flexibility needed to complete the upcoming expansion.
