LEWISVILLE, Texas – Rapper Yella Beezy's management says he stays in hospital after being shot dead on a highway in Texas.
Police told the Dallas Morning News that the rapper, who is actually called Deandre Conway, left early Sunday at the Sam Rayburn Tollway in Lewisville when someone in a vehicle stopped next to him and opened the fire. He was beaten three times.
The police said he was released from hospital on Monday. However, his management later told the newspaper that he remains in the hospital.
Capt. Dan Rochelle says the police have not set a motive and no arrests have been made.
Lewisville is a suburb in Dallas-Fort Worth.
Yella Beezy opened for Beyonce and Jay-Z when her tour near Dallas lasted in September.
