As spotted by Kotaku today, there are rappers trying to rescue dogs from precarious perch on a high-rise in virtual reality. You can say what you like about VR's mainstream charm, whether it's a rail shooter or a futuristic sport. But strap on the glasses with a clue that you might fall, and then it will become a real AF.
The best thing about this video from YouTube 88Rising is that even a video game dog in danger overcomes the natural fear of heights. Although it's a joke, even though they're all in a green room, though there's a danger that they will not fall off, these guys are focused on the mission.
I twice rescued my cat (the same cat, by the way) from a 40-foot perch up a tree, so this is almost a tripping warning for me (really) and anyone who has vertigo. And yes, there is a bad language. However, this video does not show that VR deceives the human balance, but it shows a human instinct to show mercy to the little one. This makes me feel good with myself. And you. And we. Together! And damn it, that's what we need to go to a new year, right?
