The 2019-2020 La Liga season will see Real Betis Balompie with a new front-shirt sponsor. Following several seasons with fluctuating results, the club’s management decided that it’s time to make some drastic changes. One of the weirdest moves had been the sacking of Quique Setien right after the team grabbed an unexpected away victory against Real Madrid.
Although an impressive result, it wasn’t enough for the manager who left the team on a disappointing 10th place in the domestic league. Eager for new achievements, the club convinced Joan Rubi, the former Espanyol coach, and brought several new important players to fill the gaps left by a few departures.

Is Real Betis away from financial instability?
Announced on August 16th, the important sponsorship contract with easyMarkets is part of a bigger plan to get the club out of an unstable financial period, which had a great influence on the pitch.
For the next three season, players will have a new logo on the shirt-front and in exchange, Real Betis will add €2 million more per year on its budget. easyMarkets is a leading brokerage company, specialized in offering online trading services for clients around the world. With green and white as their defining colors, both teams are expected to work together in a synergetic way.
Important players brought to fill some gaps
The biggest loss for Real Betis had been the departure of Giovani Lo Celso, the past season main goalscorer, who joined the Premier League team Tottenham on a season-long loan, with the option to make the transfer permanent next summer.
Junior Firpo had joined Barcelona, after an €18 million transfer had been made public on August 4th. The young and talented left-back will be a Blaugrana player for the next 5 seasons and will have a termination clause set at 200 million.
To compensate for the loss of Giovani Lo Celso, Real Betis bought Nabil Fekir from Lyon, a World Cup winner with the French national team. With 69 goals in close to 200 matches, the French player is expected to lead the team’s game in the upcoming season.
Alfonso Pedraza had been brought on a one-season loan from Villareal, to cover the gap left by the departure of Junior Firpo. Juanmi, Emerson, and Dani Martin are other important players who joined Betis during the off-season, as the team aims to overcome the poor performance seen in the past year.
