The special editions of Red Dead Redemption 2 were teased last month, but we finally get a glimpse of what these special editions have to offer. Note "special editions". There are not one but three different versions to choose from.
The first of the three is the Special Edition ($ 80 in the US), which contains several story fashions and a physical world map. It includes a bank robbery mission and a group hideout in story mode; a speckled black thoroughbred horse; Talisman and medallion accessories to enhance Arthur's in-game skills; Gameplay boosts, cash bonuses and discounts; the Nuevo Paraiso Gunslinger outfit; and free access to multiple weapons: the volcanic pistol, pump action shotgun and Lancaster Varmint rifle
The Ultimate Edition ($ 100) includes all the content of the Special Edition and more. This version addresses two bonus outfits, the Blackrose Bounty Hunter and Copperhead Enforcer Outfits; a black chestnut thoroughbred horse with a plateau post saddle; free access to the topic of the survivor camp; and ranking bonuses in the online game.
However, the collector box ($ 100) has no digital content or the game. Instead, it focuses on physical objects from the Red Dead Universe. Everything inclusive is delivered in a metal tithing box with lock and key. It contains a collectible challenger coin; double-sided 100-piece puzzle; Six Shooter Bandana; Treasure map; Pen set; Playing cards with illustrated versions by Arthur Morgan, John Marston, Javier Escuella, Bill Williamson and Dutch van der Linde; a replica of the 150-page Wheeler, Rawson and Co. catalog; and 12 collectible cigarette cards, inspired by those found in the game.
Both the Special Edition and the Ultimate Edition can be pre-ordered digitally in the Xbox Store and Playstation Network. Take a look at the pre-order bonuses here. All three versions, including the Collector's Box, can be pre-ordered at the Rockstar Warehouse. Red Dead Redemption 2 released on Xbox One and PS4 on October 26th.
