Relatives of a 17-year-old girl found bound and gagged in a Southern California car on Monday told police officers she would be sent to a drug rehab center in Mexico, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A witness called the police around 7:00 pm. After seeing a girl on the back of a Toyota Corolla in Carlsbad, CHP spokesman Kevin Smale said.
CHP officials found the car and stopped it around 7:20 pm, Smale said. Investigators found that the girl's 67-year-old father and 21-year-old daughter had abducted her.
They told the officials that they would take the teenager to a drug treatment facility south of the border, the San Diego Union Tribune reported.
