Last year, we gave you the news of Galaxy View 2, the successor to the 2015 Galaxy-View's 18-inch monstrosity of a tablet. In a series of leaked renderings obtained from SamMobile, we now get a glimpse of this "slimmed down" episode.
When it comes to rendering, the Galaxy View 2 digs in the integrated handle of its predecessor, though it will also have a kickstand – up to 30 degrees adjustable and with a hole in the middle, possibly for a lighter grip. The screen size is reduced to 17.3 inches, although the resolution is still unknown (our source had suggested that the 1080p resolution of the Galaxy View be maintained). The renderers show an AT & T logo on the back of the device, which confirms our contribution.
Regarding the internals, SamMobile refers to a Geekbench listing for the model number SM-T927A which mentioned an Exynos 7884
7885 SoC and 3 GB RAM, specifications, that resemble the Mid-Range Galaxy A8 of the past year (19459017). The prices are not yet known, although I believe that the price does not depend too much on the $ 599 of the original Galaxy View.
I had laughed at the weirdly oversized 18-inch Galaxy View, but there were some who really enjoyed that size. called it the perfect kitchen appliance. However, in a world of Google Home Hubs and Lenovo Smart Displays, I wonder if a full-fledged Android tablet is still the ideal device for this use case.
We have not seen this … tablet yet? … officially announced, but it looks like it's just around the corner when AT & T released a new video on YouTube introducing the Galaxy View 2:
Again, this rundown cover As the device features and functions (like quad speakers, a 12,000 mAh battery and 64 GB of memory) are still in search of price – until then we just have to speculate.
For Droid Life, the Galaxy View 2 will be available online and offline via AT & T on Friday, April 26th. The device is powered by an Exynos 7884, has 3GB of RAM and 64GB of memory, and a memory card slot. This Android 8.1 tablet runs on a 12,000 mAh battery and has a 17.3 inch 1080p display.
The device will be available through AT & T Next for $ 37. That's $ 740, an increase from the $ 600 predecessor's starting price – too much, if you ask me. We found the manual for the Galaxy View 2 on the AT & T website – you can watch it here.
