Talk to someone who knows absolutely nothing about game consoles and he will still be able to name the Nintendo Game Boy and most likely also [Tetris () to whistle. His ubiquity in the early 1990s meant that it was generally an acronym for gambling, a part of the cultural fabric, in ways that few other hardware components can claim.
Next week, several new articles will be released to celebrate the year Search Simple Handheld and Archive to find the best features released so far. We will also be posting an article in the Top 50 Game Boy Games, similar to the previous 50 "Best Switch Games So Far" and 50 "Best 3DS Games" features.
As with these selections, the ranking will depend entirely on the user reviews from the Nintendo Life Games database so that readers can rate any game. Once a minimum threshold is reached, this game qualifies for the list according to its overall rating. This worked well on the previous lists, and we've seen some interesting changes as the fluid rankings fluctuate over time. Of course, 3DS and Switch already have many user ratings, but in the last 30 years, it is inevitable that Game Boy games have only a fraction of votes compared to more modern systems.
