A Republican lawmaker said Sunday that he was worried that President Trump had shared a heavily edited video with several verbal breaks by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif.
Rep. Will Hurd, R-Texas, said Trump escalated the debate over disinformation by sharing the video, which is "something that lies at the heart of our democracy."

Trump made the video Thursday night on Twitter shared and the tensions in his spewing with Pelosi under the accusations of Democrats, the White House blocked the Congressional investigation of the President. Personal Finance, Business, and Other Affairs.
"PELOSI COMES FROM NEWS CONFERENCE," Trump wrote in his tweet citing Fox Business Network's Chyron broadcasting the video Thursday night on "Lou Dobbs Tonight."
In Replying to Twitter on Thursday, Pelosi said that Trump "distracts from the great achievements of the House Democrats #ForThePeople, from his cover-ups and unpopularity."
Trump's tweet came the same day that the Washington Post reported The rapid spread of other distorted Videos of Pelosi that have been altered to sound as if they were drunk blurring their words.
While none of the clips were "deepfakes" – realistic-looking fake videos created using artificial videos -Intelligence- Technology – Hurd said Sunday that they were nonetheless worried, adding that the legislature had Deepfa kes and other disinformation, as technology is rapidly changing the US political landscape.
"There are a lot of things related to Speaker Pelosi's video, and it's just slowed down to make it look like it's hard to talk to," Hurd said. Hurd predicted that "In a few months, we will be able to continue this deep-fake technology to grow."
"We are not prepared," he said. "We have old laws to decide how to handle disinformation. They have leaders who do not understand how this technology works in the future ft can be used. … We can not promote this stuff, and if you can not tell the difference between falsified information and non-falsified information, it's also disconcerting. "
