Results, Highlights, Results of the NBA Playoffs: Rockets Eliminate Jazz; Clippers survive by hitting the Warriors in Game 5

There was no shortage of NBA action on Wednesday night as two games came to an end.

The Houston Rockets completed one of two qualifying matches to start Wednesday night's NBA action. Behind a great performance by James Harden, who ended up with a team-high of 26 points, the Rockets defended their home game with a 100-93 win over the Utah Jazz. They will continue what many expect from a showdown with the Warriors in the Western Conference Semifinals.

In the second game, the best warriors could not stop the Clippers as Los Angeles defeated Golden State (1

29-121) in Game 5 to stay alive. Game 6 takes place on Friday night as the series returns to the Staples Center.

The winner of the Warriors / Clippers series will compete in the semi-final against the Rockets.

Below is all you need to know about Wednesday's first-round action:

NBA Playoff Schedule for Wednesday, April 24

Sweet Lou knocks twice and twice as the Warriors settle down

There will be at least 6 games. Following the clutch performance of Lou Williams (33 points and 10 assists) and Patrick Beverley (17 points and 14 rebounds), the Clippers defeated the Warriors by 129-121. Game 6 takes place on Friday night at the Staples Center.

Harrell jams it over Draymond on the poster

The Clippers are desperately looking to expand the series and are doing a great job in Game 5 so far. As Los Angeles Montrezl Harrell was ahead of Draymond Green (104-94) over Golden State before the end of the quarter.

Sweet Lou scores 18 points in the first half

The Clippers held an eight-point lead at half-time over the Warriors in Game 5, and in large part because of Lou Williams. The Sixth Man extraordinaire scored 18 points in the first half.

Beverley nearly doubles in the first half

I do not think anyone would have expected that. When the Warriors wanted to eliminate the Clippers in Game 5, they struggled to do so as they were outperformed in the second quarter. The Clippers brought a 71-63 over the Warriors at halftime, after Patrick Beverley had nearly set a double-double (14 points, nine rebounds).

Warriors score 41 first-quarter points against Clippers

If you did not think the game was high, you could not be wrong. The Warriors took a 41-37 lead over the Clippers in the first quarter, highlighted by 12 points from Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry's 10 points in the opening period.

Harden leads the Rockets to victory in the series

While it was not his best effort, Rockets star James Harden had done enough to lead the Rockets on Wednesday night to the Western Conference semifinals, having obtained the statistic sheet in Houstons 100-93 victory had crammed.

Paul turns for the Rockets in peak performance [19659018] Chris Paul was forced to assert himself in an early foul, but at the end of the evening between Rockets and Jazz, he left his mark on Wednesday night when he won the series Harden comes with clutch theft

James Harden is not known for his defense, but in the final seconds of the last Game 5 game on Wednesday he made the lead role to his team Helping the Utah quit jazz and continue into the second round.

Gordon changes from 3

Jazz makes every effort to get the ball out of James Harden's hands, and sometimes that means giving up other players with open shots. Eric Gordon got one of those open looks and launched a 3, which emanated from the top of the key.

Harden rises to the top of Capela

James Harden led the league this season but is also a master of enormous playmaker. One of his favorite pieces is driving in Clint Capela, as he did in Game 5.
