Return of Obra Dinn wins many awards at the GDC, while God of War wins Game of the Year

This week is the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco. The conference will feature two awards, the Game Developers Choice Awards and the Independent Games Festival Awards. Here are the winners.

Papers, Please The latest game by developer Lucas Pope, The Maritime Secret The return of Obra Dinn showed a strong performance in both awards. The game about discovering the mysterious events that took place on a sailing ship won the Best Narrative and the IGF Grand Prize and Excellence in Narrative at the GDC Awards. I never got so far in Obra Dinn as I had my love for jumping to wild allegations instead of putting his story carefully together, but this is certainly more inspiration to try again.
