Richard J. Haskins, president of Red Rock Resorts, died in a watercraft accident on July 4, the company said on Saturday.
“We are deeply saddened to announce that Richard J. Haskins, President of Red Rock Resorts, Inc. and Station Casinos LLC, died in a watercraft accident while on vacation in Michigan,” the company said. “The entire Station Casinos family mourns the loss. On behalf of our board of directors, our management team and our employees, we express our deepest condolences to the Haskins family.”
Red Rock’s board of directors will announce a succession plan “in the coming days,” the company said.

“Words cannot express what Rich has meant for the company and me in the 25 years he has been with Station Casinos,” said Frank Fertitta III, CEO and Chairman of Red Rock, in a statement. “He was a trustworthy advisor, a brilliant strategist, a steady hand in good times and in bad and important ones – a friend for everyone.”
“It is very difficult to imagine that Station Casinos is the company that exists today without Rich,” continued Fertitta. “He will be sorely missed by everyone who knew him. Our thoughts and prayers are with his children, his family and loved ones.”

According to Bloomberg, Haskins has been President of Red Rock since 2016.
