Richard Ojeda ends presidential contest 2020

F Former US Senator Richard Ojeda ended his presidential campaign for 2020 before most Democratic nominees expected to enter the race contest the race.

Ojeda admitted that his campaign was not to win.

"I do not want people to send money for a campaign that's unlikely to get going," he said in a video provided by The Intercept on Friday.

Ojeda, a retired army major, launched his presidential campaign in November and became one of the first Democrats to enter the race.

He failed unsuccessfully in the 201

8 midterm elections for a house seat in the 3rd congressional district of West Virginia. During this campaign, he declared his willingness to cooperate with President Trump, for whom he voted in the 2016 elections.

Ojeda criticized his own party in announcing his presidential movement.

"I have been a Democrat since my registration as a Democrat, and I will remain a Democrat, but that's because of what the Democratic Party should be," he said in November. "The reason why the Democratic Party has fallen into disfavor is because they are no longer elitist, that's what it was. Goldman Sachs, that's what they were. The Democratic Party should be the party that fights for the working class, and that's what I do. I will fully cooperate with the unions, and that is the problem – the Democratic Party wants to say that, but their actions do not reflect that.

Since then, several other Democrats have entered the race. Mayor Pete Buttigieg announced this week he is vying for the Democratic nomination. He moved to Sens. Kamala Harris from California, Kirsten Gillibrand from New York, Elizabeth Warren from Massachusetts and Rep. Tulsi Gabbard from Hawaii and Ex-Rep. John Delaney from Maryland. Julian Castro, who served as secretary under President Barack Obama, is also running.
