The Patriots defeated the Bills on Sunday, 24-12, earning the 10th AFC East Division title in New England.
With the Eagles beating the Texans, the Patriots are also able to say goodbye to the playoffs in the first round with a victory over the Jets in week 17.
Elsewhere, the Bruins arrived in Carolina the Hurricanes (who donated Hartford Whalers jerseys) while the Celtics defeated the Hornets at home, 119-103.
Rodney Harrison worries about the Patriots : Former Patriot Security Rodney Harrison, now an analyst on NBC's NBC coverage, voiced his concern over the previous game after New England's victory over the Bills on Sunday.
"You got a present with the number 2 today. I do not really like the patriots, "said Harrison. "I've never seen Rob Gronkowski like this before. I've never seen Tom Brady like this before. I'm really worried about the New England Patriots.
Gronkowski was held without a hook against the Bills while Brady was struggling. However, as the Texans have lost to the Eagles, New England has another playoff bye within reach. But visiting Gillette Stadium, according to Harrison, is not a frightening prospect for opposing teams.
"I would not be afraid to go to New England," Harrison concluded.

A Hartford Perspective on "Whalers Night" in Carolina : On Sunday, the Hartford Whalers ran again, at least in appearance. For the first time since the Whalers moved to Carolina in 1997 to become the hurricanes, the old green uniforms erupted on a promotional night staged by the team's new owner. It was not offensive to a Hartford watcher. It just fell flat. [ The Hartford Courant ]
