NEW ORLEANS (AP) – Royal Caribbean starts cruising all year round from New Orleans from January.
The Times-Picayune / The New Orleans Advocate reports that the 2,744 passenger Majesty of the Seas will be leaving New Orleans harbor by 2020 and will operate until April 2021. Night trips – Saturday to Saturday – to the Bahamas and the Western Caribbean.
The port is home to two carnival cruises and winter cruises aboard the Norwegian Cruise Lines throughout the year.
Royal Caribbean returned to New Orleans seasonally from December 2018 to March with the Vision of the Seas for 2,435 passengers.
2018 Port NOLA set a record with 1.18 million cruise passengers and 235 ship calls. The port expects around 1.45 million cruise passengers and 341 ship calls in 2020.
