Better Call Saul Staff Training: Madrigal Electromotive Security which received an Emmy nomination in the category of outstanding short comedy or drama series on Tuesday, was declared Ineligible by the Television Academy.
The Academy has not fulfilled the minimum runtime of two minutes for at least six episodes. "Consequently, both the short-form program and the performance of Jonathan Banks in the Short Form Program are not eligible to compete in their respective categories," the statement said. As a result, the submission with the next highest number of votes in the category – State of Union by Sundance TV – will now be a candidate in the category. Similarly, Ryan O'connell will be nominated for the role of Ryan Hayes in the Netflix series Special in the Actor in a Short Form Comedy or Drama Series.
