The news that Joker is headed by Persona 5 to Smash Bros. Ultimate as a DLC character has naturally triggered predictable chatter that persona 5 himself Switch-bound, but we've actually heard a rumor that seems to have something substantial.
The source is MysticDistance a translator and secondary writer for Persona Central and several other fan sites. MysticDistance has announced that Persona 5 will hit Switch next year, and the announcement will take place on the day that Joker becomes available in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
Rather than being a pure port, the Switch version will have a new title and a new will come with a number of customizations and additions, as well as new story elements. Although we are not sure how reliable the source of MysticDistance is, it is claimed that since last year a switch port has been considered and that the final title is based on one of Atlus' recently registered domains.
That would be the case suggest something related to P5U.jp or P5R.jp, two domains snapped by the company and not yet assigned to an object. Nintendo Soup reports that Persona 5 Reloaded is the official title.
Persona 5 would certainly be a game that pays off. Our friends on Push Square admitted 1
Persona 5 sets the standard for modern Japanese role-playing games: it radiates style, charisma and polish that we have not played before. With this fifth entry, the brand formula of the series for Dungeon Delving and Socializing has been perfected. Captivating, immersive gameplay, incredibly endearing characters, and a consistently rewarding narrative loop make for a spectacularly coherent whole – whether you're already a fan of Persona or not. A masterpiece from top to bottom.
What do you think of this particular rumor? If Joker came to Smash, it would make sense, but then we have Simon and Judge Belmont in Smash and Konami has not announced Castlevania title for Switch. Let us know what you think by posting a comment.
