Rumors about NFL Draft: Cardinals pass on Kyler Murray per review

In recent months it has been widely reported that the San Francisco 49ers would receive a draft board without Oklahoma quarterback Kyler Murray. Now it could be different without someone else. Pete Prisco of CBS Sports reports that while Murray was once the plan, the Cardinals are now going in a different direction:

"At first, the estate was pushing for Kyler Murray, as far as I know, I was told. The reason is that they find it difficult to sell tickets. Well, they put it out there. Arizona was lukewarm. So they suddenly pull back and from what I've been told, they'll go in a different direction. You will not design Kyler Murray.

This, along with what Kyle wrote on Friday, follows that the Cardinals can not find a trading partner ready to give a first round to current quarterback Josh Rosen. The lack of a trading partner along with the reception of the selection makes this not the best choice for the future.

The consensus authority was that the Cardinals would take Murray, followed by the 49ers who took the Ohio State defensive end Nick Bosa. If the cardinals take another person, that person could be Bosa. It could also be Alabama's defensive attack on Quinn Williams. While Bosa in the NFL Draft 201

9 is considered by many to be the best overall player, Williams is also regarded by others as such. The cardinals also need more help inside than at the edge. In addition, Bosa plays in a 4-3 and would have to convert to 3-4 defensive end.

All in all, if the Cardinals pass on a quarterback, this gives an interesting scenario for the 49ers. Yes, missing is not ideal for Bosa fans, but the 49ers are a potential trading partner for a quarterback hungry team. The bidding war could go to the New York Jets, who are in 3rd place behind the 49ers and are a cheaper option for some teams, but if a team wants and is absolutely sure they are Murray, they can go to No. 2 and the 49ern can get some first-class real estate.

And Williams, who also heads, could be someone who wants a team. Behind the jets are the Oakland Raiders, who have the ammunition to get two places up. If the 49ers should identify a pass rusher beyond the number 5, the Mississippi State defensive Montez Sweat puts in the conversation and possibly the Kentucky defender Josh Allen. Both of them may have disappeared before the 49ers make their choice, or they may be the runner they are looking for.

Or maybe this is another smoke protection and Murray is still on his way to Arizona.

Welcome to Draft Week, all together.
