Worms found in Siberia, which had been frozen many years ago, were able to become active and be brought back to life. Their age makes them the oldest living organisms on the planet.
Experts from the Institute of Physicochemical and Biological Problems in Soil Science, located in Pushchino, succeeded in returning vipers that were discovered in Siberia. Taken alone, the discovery was of scientific interest because the organisms are old enough to explore them. The fact that they could be active was totally unexpected.
The age of one of the worms is about 32 000 years, the second was older ̵
