Russia's largest weapons manufacturer wants to take Tesla with his new electric concept vehicle.
Kalashnikov, maker of the AK-47 assault weapon, has entered retro-mode with his new "Supercar", the CV-1, at a Russian defense show near Moscow on Thursday
. According to media reports at a press event At the Expo, a Kalashnikov spokesman said the car will "leave us in the ranks of global electric car makers like Tesla."
It certainly looks retro, with the design and bodywork of an old school IZh 21252 "station wagon" – the station wagon came from a 1970s Soviet automaker. It's a bold design decision, a vintage reminiscence to the Fujifilm Instax camera.
