SEOUL, December 27 – Samsung and Huawei, the world's two largest sellers of Android phones, are poised to transition their lineup to the latest version of Google's mobile phone operating system. Android 9.0 (aka Android Pie) will be available first for the Samsung Galaxy S9, the Huawei P20 Pro, and then for other models.
Following a discrete start in the fall, when it was installed on the Google Pixel series and a small number of new releases (including OnePlus 6, Huawei Mate 20), Android Pie is finally being brought to a broader market.
Samsung plans an update for its high-end mobile phones, followed by a gradual introduction to other models. From January, the Galaxy S9 and S9 + will benefit from the new operating system, in the first quarter of 201
In the second quarter, the Korean manufacturer is planning to bring Pie onto the Galaxy A7, A8 and A9 before it becomes available later in the year on the J3, J4, J6 and J7.
Huawei and its subsidiary Honor have promised early in 2019 Pie Update for some of their models: the Huawei Mate 10, Mate 10 Pro, P20 and P20 Pro as well as the Honor Play, 10 and View 10.
Android users can consider Check if Pie is available for her model by checking for her phone settings. Samsung and Huawei models also get new Experience and EMUI skins that are compatible with this latest version of Android.
The most important innovation in Android Pie is a new gesture navigation system that allows users to easily switch between open applications. Android Pie also improves battery life on most smartphones by providing a more sophisticated analysis of user habits and behavior. – AFP Relax News
